Food Processing
Wastewater from food processing, high in FOG, TSS, and BOD, requires reduction to meet sewer limits or to enhance further treatment. Tenco Hydro's Clari-Float DAF systems, sometimes paired with chemical conditioning, are effective in this, even allowing for by-product recovery. Tenco provides various modular and stand-alone DAF units in different configurations for diverse food processing needs.
Transportation
Transportation maintenance facilities, serving road, rail, or air vehicles, produce wastewater with high oil, grease, and solids content. Tenco effectively treats this wastewater using technologies like API oil-water separators, Clari-Pac C coalescers, Skim-Kleen belt oil skimmers, and Clari-Pac G clarifiers, with optional chemical conditioning.
Metal Products
Metal products manufacturing processes like plating and cleaning generate wastewater containing contaminants such as greases, metals, and solids. Tenco Hydro employs various equipment to treat this wastewater, ensuring compliance with effluent quality standards set by receiving POTWs or surface water guidelines.
Petrochemical
In petroleum refining, wastewater with high free oil levels is treated using API oil-water separators, with settled solids mechanically removed. For streams containing solids and emulsified oils, chemical conditioning and Clari-Float DAF clarification are used, while Skim-Kleen belt oil skimmers manage free oil accumulation in specific plant areas.
Electronics
The manufacturing of electronic components results in wastewater with varied contaminants, depending on the process. Treatment methods range from simple pH neutralization to more complex processes akin to those used in metal products manufacturing.
Municipal
In municipal applications, Tenco Hydro offers solutions like Clari-Scum Concentrators and Thermix Batch Processing Tanks for efficient scum handling, and Dissolved Air Flotation Thickeners (DAFT) for thickening waste activated sludge. Their systems ensure effective concentration and homogenization of waste materials, facilitating easier handling and transfer. Additionally, Tenco’s DAF systems are versatile, used for biomass separation in biotower and lagoon treatments, and as secondary clarifiers in sludge processes, often enhanced with chemical flocculation for improved performance.
Scum & Grease Concentration
Tenco Hydro's Clari-Scum Concentrators are highly effective for concentrating diluted scum and grease from POTW primary clarifiers or septage haulers, reducing disposal costs or preparing for further processing. In cases requiring more efficient grease capture, the Tenco Clari-Float DAF is also utilized.
Batch Grease Processing
The combination of Tenco Hydro's Clari-Scum Concentrator with the Thermix Batch Processing Tank system enhances scum handling. This integration allows for heating and blending of scum into a consistent mixture, facilitating easier pump handling and transfer of the homogenized fluid.
Sludge Thickening
Dissolved Air Flotation Thickeners (DAFT) by Tenco Hydro effectively concentrate Waste Activated Sludge (WAS) from biological processes, increasing solids from about 0.5% to 5% or higher. This process, which typically uses a polymeric flocculant, achieves over 95% solids capture. Without flocculant, lower sludge concentrations and solids capture are still attainable.
Clarification
Clarification using DAF is an effective process for separation of sloughed biomass from biotower treatment, and algae generated from lagoon treatment. Chemical flocculation is often needed for improved performance. DAF can also be used as the secondary clarifier in Waste Activated Sludge Process.
